Warranty & care

We want you to enjoy your AYAMAE watch for as long as possible. On this page you can find information about your warranty, water resistance, battery replacement, watch care and what to do if something is wrong with your watch.

Warranty on your AYAMAE watch

Every AYAMAE watch comes with a commercial warranty. The warranty period can differ between watch models.

The warranty period applicable to your watch is stated on the product page of the watch you purchased.

Our warranty covers manufacturing and material defects that arise during normal and careful use within the applicable warranty period.

Your consumer rights

The AYAMAE commercial warranty is provided in addition to the consumer rights that apply to your purchase. Your consumer rights are not limited by the commercial warranty period stated for your watch.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty is intended for problems caused by a manufacturing or material defect. Normal signs of wearing a watch or damage caused by an external event are not the same as a manufacturing defect.

May be covered by warranty

  • A movement that stops working because of a manufacturing defect
  • Hands or internal components that become loose without external damage
  • A crown, clasp, case or bracelet component that fails because of a material or production defect
  • Other construction or material defects that arise during normal use
  • Moisture entering the watch despite the watch being used within its stated water-resistance specifications

Normally not covered by warranty

  • Scratches, dents and other normal signs of use
  • Normal wear or gradual changes to the finish caused by wearing the watch
  • Damage caused by dropping, hitting or crushing the watch
  • Damage caused by incorrect use, cleaning or maintenance
  • Damage caused by perfume, cosmetics, cleaning products or chemicals
  • Water damage caused by exposure beyond the stated water-resistance specifications
  • Normal battery depletion
  • Normal wear to leather straps or other components that naturally wear over time
  • Damage caused during a repair, adjustment or battery replacement performed by a third party

Not sure what caused the problem?

You do not need to determine the cause yourself. Contact AYAMAE Customer Care and send us clear photos and a video of the issue. We will review the information with you.

Water resistance

Always check the specifications of your individual watch. Many AYAMAE watches are rated at 3 ATM, which means they are splash resistant.

A 3 ATM rating does not mean that the watch is suitable for showering, bathing, swimming or being submerged in water.

3 ATM · SPLASH RESISTANT
Light splashes Suitable
×
Showering Not suitable
×
Bathing Not suitable
×
Swimming Not suitable

Important: water damage caused by exposing the watch to more water than its stated water-resistance specifications allow is not covered by the AYAMAE commercial warranty.

Did your watch accidentally get wetter than intended?

Remove the watch and carefully dry the outside with a soft, dry cloth. Do not operate the crown or any buttons while the watch is wet.

Leave the watch in a dry, well-ventilated place and allow it to dry naturally. Do not use a hairdryer, radiator or other direct heat.

If you notice condensation underneath the glass, moisture inside the watch or the watch no longer works properly after contact with water, please contact AYAMAE Customer Care.

Battery & maintenance

The battery inside a quartz watch will naturally run out over time. Normal battery depletion is therefore considered maintenance and is not covered by the AYAMAE commercial warranty.

Did your watch stop unusually soon after delivery?

Please contact us before having the battery replaced. We can then assess whether the problem may be caused by a defect rather than normal battery depletion.

AYAMAE currently does not have physical service locations. When the battery reaches the end of its normal life, we recommend having it replaced by a professional jeweller or watchmaker.

Having a battery replaced by a third party does not automatically cancel your warranty. However, damage caused during an external repair, adjustment or battery replacement is not covered by the AYAMAE commercial warranty.

How to care for your watch

A few simple habits can help keep your AYAMAE watch looking beautiful for longer.

Avoid water Do not shower, bathe or swim with a splash-resistant watch.
Perfume & cosmetics Allow perfume, lotion and cosmetics to dry before putting on your watch.
Store it dry Store your watch in a clean and dry place when you are not wearing it.
Clean gently Use a soft, dry cloth and avoid aggressive cleaning products.
Treat it like jewellery Avoid hard impacts and rough surfaces to help prevent scratches and dents.
Leather straps Keep leather straps as dry as possible to reduce premature wear and discoloration.

Make a warranty claim

If something is wrong with your watch, please contact AYAMAE Customer Care directly.

Please do not return or repair the watch before speaking with our team.

Contact our Customer Care team

Choose the contact method that is most convenient for you.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A clear description of the issue and when you first noticed it
  • Clear photographs of the watch and the reported issue
  • A clear video showing the reported issue

Both photos and video are required as part of our assessment process. In some cases we may also ask you to return the watch for further inspection.

How do we assess a warranty claim?

Every claim is reviewed individually. We look at the reported problem together with the condition of the watch to help determine the likely cause of the issue.

The reported problem

We review your description, photographs and video.

The condition of the watch

We may check for visible wear, impact damage, moisture, corrosion or other signs of external damage.

The specifications of your watch

We compare the reported issue with the specifications and care instructions applicable to your watch.

Further inspection where necessary

In some cases we need to receive and inspect the watch before we can determine what caused the issue.

Important: submitting a warranty claim does not automatically mean that the claim has been approved. AYAMAE first needs to assess the reported issue and its likely cause.

Repair or replacement

If your claim is accepted, we will determine the appropriate solution based on the nature of the problem and the rights that apply to your purchase.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement or another appropriate solution.

An accepted warranty claim therefore does not automatically mean that a new watch will be sent.

Frequently asked questions

The commercial warranty period can differ between watch models. The warranty period applicable to your watch is stated on the relevant product page.

What does the AYAMAE warranty cover?

The AYAMAE commercial warranty covers manufacturing and material defects that arise during normal and careful use within the applicable warranty period. Every claim is reviewed individually.

Are scratches or discoloration covered?

Normal scratches, signs of wear and gradual changes caused by wearing the watch are generally not covered. If a material issue appears unusually quickly and you believe it may be caused by a production defect, please contact us so we can assess it.

Is water damage covered by warranty?

Water damage caused by exposing the watch to more water than its stated water-resistance specifications allow is not covered by the AYAMAE commercial warranty. If moisture entered your watch despite it being used within its stated specifications, please contact us so we can assess the issue.

Can I shower or swim with a 3 ATM watch?

No. AYAMAE describes watches with a 3 ATM rating as splash resistant. They are suitable for occasional light splashes, but not for showering, bathing, swimming or submersion.

Is battery replacement covered by warranty?

Normal battery depletion is considered maintenance and is not covered by the commercial warranty. If your watch stops unusually soon after delivery, contact us before replacing the battery so that we can assess the issue.

Where can I have my battery replaced?

AYAMAE currently does not have physical service locations. We recommend having the battery replaced by a professional jeweller or watchmaker.

Does replacing the battery at a jeweller cancel my warranty?

Not automatically. However, damage caused during an external repair, adjustment or battery replacement is not covered by the AYAMAE commercial warranty.

What do I need to submit a warranty claim?

Please provide your order number, a clear description of the problem, clear photographs and a clear video showing the reported issue. Both photographs and video are required for our assessment.
